Michael has been in the financial services industry for 25 plus years and brings more than 16 years of experience in investment and portfolio management to his role as Vice President and Portfolio Manager.
Currently, Michael works closely with his clients to understand their unique goals and aspirations, cash flow needs, risk tolerance and tax situation to tailor a portfolio specific to each of his client's investment objectives. He is committed to being accessible to his clients through in-person investment meetings and telephone calls to discuss portfolio activities, economic conditions and investment options.
Prior to joining First American Trust in 2003, Michael began his career with legacy firm Security Pacific National Bank, Bank of America Private Bank and Banc of America Capital Management LLC. In his 12 years of combined service there, he held a variety of sales and marketing positions including Vice President and Associate Director of Business Development, Communication Consultant and Credit Analyst. He then worked as a Registered Representative and Internal Wholesaler of small- to mid-size retirement plans for The Principal Financial Group.
Michael received his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. He is currently a candidate to receive designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and has held securities licenses 7, 63 and 65.
Michael is affiliated with various professional and community activities. He is a current member of the Finance Sub-Committee for the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) and is a member of the Professional Association of Communication Investment Resources (PACIR). He serves the community of Huntington Beach where he lives as a volunteer for multiple youth organizations. He coaches and manages a baseball team for the Ocean View Little League, serves as coach and intermediate soccer referee for American Youth Soccer Organization, acts as football coach for the Flag Football League, Friday Night Lights and also serves as basketball coach for the St. Bonaventure Church Youth Basketball League.
Michael was awarded the annual Chuck Potter Eagle Award for First American Trust (2006) for his contributions to the firm.
